Joe (12) and Ad (10) take on Glasto!

United Kingdom United Kingdom | | 11 March 2005

We arrived onsite on Friday the 18th June, we always go down early because Dad works at the festival. This is our seventh Glastonbury and we really love coming here. It's great to get onsite early because we see the whole festival site grow and evolve. It all changes everyday, also its good because we get to play football and frisbee in the big open fields. One of the other things we enjoy is meeting up with all the people we only see at the festival. We have made some great friends over the years.

We spent the first few days helping Dad and just having fun, despite the rain and mud.  Once the festival was underway we spent a lot of time in the kid's field. We always have loads of fun here, making things, watching shows, going on the rides and just playing. We also spend some time up in the Greenfields, we always make sure we visit the stone circle and the dragon. This year we went on the Greenpeace climbing wall, it was very high. But the thing we like to do most is spend time in the circus and theatre fields, we always see some great acts on the outside circus stage and in the big top. We really love all the walkabouts, especially the tea ladies on tour; we always have a cup of tea and a biscuit. Some of the best things we saw this year were the Black Eagles, the Acromaniacs and Jay Gilligan. We also saw Space Cowboy who is a sword swallower, we have seen him before with the Happy Sideshow - they were really cool.

We also enjoy looking round all the markets as you can buy things you only ever see at Glastonbury, Mom and Dad say you can get any meal you want at any time of the day or night at the markets. Friends always ask us which groups we see but we don't really go for the music although we did go see Paul MaCartney as we are both big Beatles fans. We also went to see Gomez with Dad because he really likes them and we quite like them now too. For us its all about everything else that happens, not the music  some of our friends from school went and they really enjoyed it too. Everyone we spoke to said they had had a great time despite the rain and the mud. We said goodbye to everyone on Monday and came home but hopefully we will see them all again next year.
