Best Headliners Of 2006? YOU decide!
United Kingdom | |
11 September 2006
While this year's summer festival season careers to a climatic yet slightly tearful close, the UK Festival Awards are once again hotting up like a blues-banishing Indian Summer - and Virtual Festivals readers are again being invited to get involved.
Designed to celebrate everything that's happened in festival land over the last few months - from the best bands to the coolest events to the cleanest toilets - this year's awards promise to be the biggest and best yet.
A first-ever live ceremony is to be staged in London, which festival organisers, acts and fans will be invited to, featuring a top compere, live bands and DJs (all to be announced soon!)
You could be the first person in the world get your hands on a pair of tickets, simply by helping us to whittle down the shortlist for the Best Festival Headliner award category.
Simply Click HERE and vote for your favourite headliner of the summer from our selected list of 30. The ten most popular will go on to be voted by the wider public to decide the eventual winner.
We've included everyone from A-Ha at Guilfest to Tool at Download, but who will win?
Will Foo Fighters' performance at the Isle Of Wight Festival be enough to retain their crowd for the second year running? Will Muse repeat their triumph of 2004? Or will this year's accolade go to someone totally new?
Only one thing's for sure; one lucky VF reader and a friend will be invited to the UK Festival Awards 2006 ceremony on 19 October - provided you vote by Thursday, 21 September!
The winnner and the final list of ten nominations for 'Best Headliner' will be announced on Monday, 25 September, at which time voting for all the awards will start.
The UK Festival Awards 2006 will be announced at a special bash at Islington Academy, London, on Thursday, 19 October.
