The Australian singer was forced to pull out in 2005 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but organisers have
hinted that the former soap star is a frontrunner for a headline slot next year.
Glastonbury’s organiser,
Michael Eavis said: “We've got seven headline acts we're looking at. And yes, Kylie is
one of them.”
If Kylie is confirmed to perform this would leave just one headline slot
to book for 2008 after co-organiser Emily Eavis said earlier this year: “We’ve got one of
our headliners for 2008 already. I can’t say much, but they’re one of the great British bands.”
Rumours suggest the ‘great British band’ might well be Muse.
Talking about a conversation he had with the group about this year's festival, Michael Eavis said: “So
I said: ‘Why don’t you put it off ’til next year?’”
Other potential headliners could be Radiohead or Blur, who are reported to be back in the studio recording.
