Having sewn itself into musical folklore with three defining festivals between 1968 and 1970 (when tickets cost £3 and around 250,000 people turned up), the event then remained dormant for more than 30 years after the local authorities ruled it unsafe.

Revived in 2002, the festival is nothing near the scale of its spontaneously shambolic glory days, however it remains one of the UK's major festivals and is currently on a roll, with reviews and feedback getting better by the year. less

I personall felt that the festival wasn't really too overcrowded! Didn't really have to que up much at all!
