The Bees for End Of The Road

24 April 2007

The Bees and King Creosote head the latest batch of artists announced for the second ever End Of The Road, which brings the summer festival season to a close with parrots, peacocks, English gardens and all round great music.

Winner of 'Best New Festival' at the 2006 UK Festival Awards, acts newly confirmed for this year's event include Devastations, Findlay Brown, Fionn Regan, Hyacinth House, Jeffrey Lewis, Johnny Flynn, Josh T Pearson, Micah P Hinson, Misty's Big Adventure, My Brightest Diamond, Paris Motel, Pete & the Pirates, Port O'Brien and The Twilight Sad.

Also new for 2007 is The Local – a special folk tent inside the beautiful gardens which will play host to pop quizzes, folk idol and general mayhem. Discover more at their MySpace HERE.

The festival is still accepting applications from new and unsigned bands and will once again be encouraging more established acts to break down the barriers between audience and artist. Last year saw the likes of Ed Harcourt, Josh Ritter and Darren Hayman all playing surprise sets in and around the site.

Acts previously confirmed for this year include Herman Dune, Howe Gelb (of Giant Sand), The Young Republic, Euros Childs, The Broken Family Band, Charlie Parr, Seasick Steve, Viking Moses, Sons of Noel & Adrian, Monkey Swallows the Universe, Darren Hayman, Hush The Many, Sunny Day Sets Fire and David Thomas Broughton.

Tickets for the 5,000-capacity festival are still on sale HERE, priced £95 for the weekend.

Free of any corporate sponsorship, End Of The Road is a proudly independent festival which doesn't sell day tickets so as to keep a sense of community throughout the weekend.

A spokesman said: "There is always the feeling that something special might just be about to happen."
