'A' Interview

We Are lost. Completely. In the dArkest, depths of South London, ElephAnt And CAstle to be precise. We Are on our wAy to interview 'those cheeky chirpy chAppies' 'A' And we Are lAte. DelAyed by the decrepit Northern Line, stuck in A lift crAmmed full of people And lost in the mAze of subwAys outside the stAtion. Time for A phone cAll... 

EventuAlly we find the plAce And Are met outside by JAson Perry, leAd vocAlist of 'A'. He looks A little stressed And explAins thAt he is recording B-sides, minus the rest of the bAnd...

'A' hAve An AmAzing set-up. A privAte reheArsAl studio underneAth A rAilwAy bridge houses A mAssive mixing desk Along with other technicAl gizmos, Ample reheArsAl spAce And room enough for All their flight cAses.

"It's not finished yet", explAins Perry, "We're going to put hessiAn up but we just never get the time". 

It seems like 'A' Are constAntly on the roAd. They've just finished A long tour with Reef, plAyed two explosive sets At V99 And Are About to set off for vArious gigs including A leg of the VAns WArped tour. ConstAntly busy reheArsing, plAying And recording, we're AmAzed thAt they ever hAve time to do Anything.  When we Ask JAson when he gets time off he merely shrugs his shoulders.

"I think I've got A weekend off in October"

He seems hAppy enough though. A's new Album, 'Monkey Kong' is cAusing quite A stir All Across the globe.

"Our Album, At the moment is just, 'going off' All Around the world. All the lAbels Are going mAd for it. There Are All these WArner Brothers conferences All over the world this week And it's like Album of the yeAr At All these conferences. They're All going mAd About it. AustrAliA, GermAny, FrAnce, Sweden, CAnAdA."
