You're playing the VIP tent later. What kind of set can we expect from you?
When you're doing something like this at a festival, you've just got to have fun with it really. I'll be playing bits of all sorts. A few quirky little numbers in there and some old favourites.
Wouldn't you rather be playing in one of the arenas?
Well, it's so impersonal in the arenas and I spend all my time in the VIP area every year anyway. So this year they said that I should host it.
Are there any other acts that you're interested in seeing?
It'll be good to see Groove Armada later - that'll be quite exciting. And 2 Many Djs'll be fun. Grandmaster Flash as well.
What does 2003 hold for Basics?
It's going from strength to strength. We've probably survived the overall climate and the way it's been 'cause we've held on to what we're doing and kept it tight so we've not been affected.
As promoter of your own festival, who would you like to see play?
Elvis, Jimmy Saville, Public Enemy and Sex Pistols. Headlined by The Clash.
