Big Session lineup revealed

Following this year's sold out event, Leicester's legendary good food, real ale and proper music binge, the Big Session Festival, has announced some of its bands for next year.

The brainchild of folk rockers, Oysterband, the festival returns to De Montfort Hall, Leicester, for its second year from 16-18 June.

Over the weekend a brand new array of very special guests from the world of folk and roots music will perform their own full length sets over two stages, indoor and out, peaking with the Oysters headline appearance on Saturday night.

Acts already confirmed include The Levellers, June Tabor, Spiers & Boden, Seth Lakeman, Martin Simpson, T & La Touche, Jackie Leven, Martha Tilston, Chumbawamba, and of course Oysterband.

The event will boast an expanded outdoor venue, a larger beer tent with open mic space, more sessions and a bigger market place.

There will also be a ceilidh, a children's area and more throughout the weekend.

Early-bird weekend tickets are on sale now with a £10 reduction up until 31 January when a limited number of day tickets go on sale. Tickets currently cost £55 for the weekend, £15 for chiuldren aged 12-15, free for under-12s.
