'Massacre' promised for ATP

The two US bands join headliners and curators Dinosaur Jr for the second United Sounds Of ATP weekend, which takes place in the festival's traditional setting of Camber Sands Holiday Park, Sussex, from 19-21 May. The Lilys have also been confirmed for that day.

Broken Social Scene are one of the hottest live prospects for 2006 and could be this year's Arcade Fire (see our predictions here). You can currently see The Brian Jonestown Massacre misbehaving with best mates The Dandy Warhols in the rock-umentary Dig!, recently released on DVD. 

Visitors to the second ATP weekend will also be able to catch the return of Japanese rockers Boredoms who have been announced for the Sleater-Kinney curated day. The Shins are the other band programming a day.

The weekend before (12-14 May) sees another trio of American acts - Mudhoney, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Devendra Banhart - headlining each day and picking the bands. Just added to the Mudhoney day are reformed '80s band The Flesh Eaters, while hip-hop pioneers The Watts Prophets join Devendra Banhart and his intriguing choice of acts.

The two consecutive weekenders are the first time All Tomorrow's Parties have invited a different band to curate each day. The ever-innovative festival usually asks a band or artist to help curate the entire weekend. Previous guests have included Shellac, Sonic Youth, Vincent Gallo, and The Mars Volta.

Tickets for both weekends are still available priced £125. You need to book in blocks of 4-8 if seeking accommodation in the holiday park chalets. Alternatively you can arrange to share a chalet with strangers.
