One Earth Concert Postponed
Organisers Climate Change Now have given no explanation for the postponement, but insist that
the event will still take place later in the year at the same venue.
The Strokes, Manic Street Preachers, The
Darkness, Super Furry Animals, Embrace
and Elbow, among other acts, were due to perform at the event which was to have been televised worldwide as part of a global
campaign by Climate Change Now, an environmental organisation. All profits from the concert
were to have been donated to the UK charity One.
Organisers are trying to find a new date that suits the
existing bands on the line-up as well as those who were unable to make the original date.
Michael Mathres of Climate Change Now told the BBC: "We apologise wholeheartedly for any inconvenience caused by the change of date.
"But we can assure those who have already purchased tickets that the event will still take place at the Millennium Stadium."
