The Strokes to kick off Wireless Festival

The Strokes will be supported
by Belle & Sebastian and Super Furry Animals on Wednesday, 21 June, with many more due
to be confirmed soon. The new day means London's Wireless Festival will now consist of five consecutive days
(Wednesday - Sunday).
The other headliners are James Blunt, Depeche Mode, and David Gray, with Massive Attack just confirmed
to headline the Friday (23rd). Support comes previously announced acts, The Flaming Lips, Pharrell,
and DJ Shadow.
The Bristol trip-hoppers will then make the trip up north to headline the
Saturday night at the innaugral Wireless Festival in Leeds, with Goldfrapp, DJ
Shadow and Pharrell joining them in the gardens of Harewood House. The
Who will headline the Sunday night in Leeds.
All the days open at either 1pm or 2pm with the music going on
until about 10.30pm. The will be three arenas at each with one dedicated to emerging talent.
Day tickets for
both festivals go on sale at 9am Friday (24 Feb) priced £37.50 for all days apart from the Saturday at Leeds
which costs £32.50. You'll be able to buy them here.
