First acts for The Big Chill 2006
United Kingdom | |
23 February 2006
Other acts for the three-day Herefordshire festival include Amidou & Mariam,
Glen Tilbrook and the Fluffers, Louise Rhodes, Nathan Fake, The
Egg, X-Press 2, Norman Jay, and Vashti Bunyan. Click here for the full lineup as it stands.
Many more bands, DJs and artists are expected to be announced
in the coming weeks, although stage details and timings are usually not revealed until the week before the festival. Organisers
also have a policy of not naming any acts as 'headliners'.
As the official website reads: "The Big Chill has
never really been about resting on its laurels by going for recognised headliners and known crowd pleasers, and it makes sense
to continue to avoid a situation where any one artist will dominate the weekend. "
However organisers have revealed
that there will be more entertainment areas, increased security measures, and perhaps most importantly more
loos. There will also be the usual street theatre, creative spaces, market and food stalls, as well as the now famous
arts trail which winds up one of the hills overlooking the site.
The Big Chill 2006 takes place
from 4-6 August in the grounds of Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire. Tickets are on sale now priced £120
for adults and £60 for 13-15 year olds. Under 12s are free. Vists the official site here to buy.
