Orange Evolution unveils lineup
United Kingdom | |
22 March 2006
Taking over various clubs and venues from 18-29 May, Orange Evolution culminates
in a multi-staged, one-day outdoor festival on Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside on the bank
holiday Monday (29) ... and it's free!
Other bands playing across the three stages include Graham Coxon,
Freestylers, Boy Kill Boy, Jim Noir, Hayseed Dixie, The
Proclaimers and Richard Hawley. Click here for the full lineup.
Wristbands are not required in advance so you can just turn up on the
day, although organisers have warned that venues will have limited capacities and have reserved the right to refuse admission.
In
the days leading up to the free showcase event there will be dozens of gigs taking place at various venues throughout
the area, including Newcastle Carling Academy, The Cluny, The Sage Gateshead
and Digital.
Acts booked for these 'pay-for' events include Guillemots, Mr
Scruff, Taking Back Sunday, The Futureheads, DJ Format, Sandy
Rivera, and James Taylor Quartet.
North-East club kings Shindig are
also holding a huge outdoor dance party on the Sunday (28) in Baltic Square from 6pm until midnight, featuring Junior
Jack, Kid Creme, Dimitri From Paris and more. Tickets cost £23 advance.
