Girls Aloud and more for V

Girls Aloud, We Are Scientists, The Cardigans, Phoenix, The Saw Doctors and The Rifles are the latest acts confirmed for this year's V Festival double-header in Staffordshire and Essex...

They join the likes of headliners Morrissey, Radiohead and Faithless, plus loads more including The Charlatans, Editors, Paul Weller, Keane, Beck, Bloc Party, Fatboy Slim, and Hard Fi. Click here for the full lineup.

Seen together, the latest batch of bands is a good example of the range of acts playing at V Festival this year. Bet you never thought you'd see Girls Aloud and Radiohead on the same bill!

According to a festival spokesman: "Quality and diversity is what the V Festival is all about - and the six acts announced today achieve this on both counts. With only 32 acts of a final 80 confirmed, we're not even nearly done yet. Our advice is to watch this space for more of the finest acts the music world has to offer - both new and well known!"

V Festival 2006 takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex, and Weston Park, Staffordshire, on 19-20 August with two bills swapping sites over the two days. Both events are sold out. Click the links below for more.
