29 June 2006
Foundation Festival takes place at Shooters Bottom Hill, in the Mendip Hills near Bristol, on 2-3 September. Fun Lovin Criminals, Kosheen, Goldie Lookin' Chain, Coldcut and loads more have already been confirmed and now organisers have released more top names.
Legendary Radio 1 DJ Giles Peterson has given the festival his seal of approval by agreeing to perform and drum'n'bass fans will be thrilled by the news that Bryan Gee and SS and High Contrast have been added to the bill.
In the Hip Hip Arena J-Live will be appearing, as well as Killa Kela who is one of the UK’s leading beatboxers - a truly awesome act to see live.
Reggae fans will be chuffed to hear that the mighty Trojan Soundsystem will be coming to Foundation, with MCs Brother Culture, General Slater and Tippa Irie performing over some of the reggae greats.
The festival also gives soul and blues fans a chance to see Alice Russell fronting Will Holland's Quantic Soul Orchestra, a combination which produces ‘militantly funky and sample free’ soul music.
Other acts added to the ever-growing lineup include Dwele, Distorted Minds and TC, The Beat, Flipron, Congo Faith Healers and Bikini Beach Band.
Oliver Gurney, Festival Director, said: “We are working hard to find artists which other festivals do not focus on, finding unique acts at the top of their game who we love personally and know have their own followings out there. This will be a mix of musical genius and some jaw droppingly talented performing artists, all bringing a truly different kind of independent festival to British audiences.”
The two-day festival is shaping up to be one of the best new festivals of the summer with a whole host of treats still in the bag. Stay posted for more announcements, including two massive headliners!
