Eavis On Touts And Headliners

21 July 2006
The festival founder vowed to stamp down even harder on touts at the 2007 event, following last year's policy of demanding photo ID on entrance, and has challenged other festivals to follow his lead.
He said: “We seem to be ahead of the field on it which is rather weird - me being a rather humble dairy farmer from Somerset!
“But it really really bothers me when people buy a Glastonbury ticket for 120 quid, and sell it for 600. A lot of other promoters don't seem to mind what happens to the tickets afterwards, but it does really bother me."
Eavis also told BBC6music that the lineup for next year's festival is taking shape. He said: "We've got the headliners that we were really looking for, the Saturday's still got a choice of two or three at the moment, but I've got Friday and Sunday.
“And of course we've got all the headliners on the other stages, and that's a lot easier for us, isn't it?"
Virtual Festivals' in-house bookie has installed Arctic Monkeys and Kylie as favourites to fill the Friday and Sunday nights respectively.
