The Police Confirm 'Something Special'

| 03 January 2007

As previously reported, tabloid whispering have supposedly uncovered a birthday reunion tour by '80s moon walkers The Police.

The Mirror said the band had already penned live dates in May and June, leading us to predict the possibility of a festival date or two - the most likely being Glastonbury, Isle Of Wight Festival or Hyde Park Calling.

As a result of the story, we received this statement sent to us by Universal Music, on behalf of their label A&M: "As the 30th anniversary of the first Police single approaches, discussions have been underway as to how this will be commemorated. While we can confirm that there will indeed be something special done to mark the occasion, the depth of the band's involvement still remains undetermined."

So there we have it. We can all look forward to another greatest hits compilation at the very least.
