Metallica for Live Earth

19 June 2007
Metal band Metallica have been announced as one of the final acts for the London leg of Live Earth. The 24-hour series of concerts already has Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Madonna on the bill.
The concerts are hoping to bring two billion people together to try and combat the current climate change crisis. Madonna has written a song especially for the event called 'Hey You' and Metallica will be making their set available to buy the day after the event to raise money for four climate charities.
Metallica's Lars Ulrich said: "We keep waiting for future generations to solve the problems; to invent cleaner technology; to pay the cost [...] that's the same as passing the buck. I want the buck to stop here, now."
Tickets for the event have already sold out but it is set to be TV, Radio and the Internet.
