Glade organiser releases statement

The site near Thatcham, in Berkshire, has been hammered by heavy rain throughout the day causing flooding to stages and tents.
With forecasters issuing a severe weather warning in the southern half of the country over the next 24 hours, a number of festivals are bracing themselves for a sodden start.
But Glade will go ahead according to organiser Mark Parsons, who has been working around the clock to minimise disruption to the dance festival.
He has just issued the following statement to Virtual Festivals: "All tents and stages here are open bar one, the Overkill Stage, which is flooded. We've had no rain for over an hour now and water levels are subsiding. Overkill is being checked, and we hope to open it again this evening, but we can't guarantee that at this time."
He added: "Transport and access problems here reflect those across the local area. Roads are closed due to the water so people can't get near the site right now."
Parsons said he expects transport and access to improve during the rest of the day, and agreed festival-goers should check for road traffic information as they set off.
He stressed the festival will go ahead, saying: "If you have been to Glastonbury in a wet year you know what conditions are like."
More rain is expected across the weekend, but at nothing like the torrential levels seen this morning, he said.

Friday 20 July :
Shame on you Glade Mark Parsons for subjecting thousands of trusting, naieve young people to danger. They are travelling through
flooded motorways and torrential rain to get to a washed out "festival" which you are determined won't be cancelled. Why not?
Surely it won't affect your PROFITS will it?

What "washed out festival" would that be??? I was there from Thursday until the end and I must say that once the rain stopped
on Friday and everything started up, the Glade went full steam ahead - thanks Glade team for not cancelling! We'd all seen
the forecast so were prepared for the worst.
