Big Day Out 2003 Sets Melbourne Alight!
Australia | |
28 January 2003
The Big Day Out rolled in to Melbourne Showgrounds on the Australia Day holiday, and a sell-out crowd of about 38,000 turned
out to see bands as varied as The Waifs, Chicks on Speed, and The Deftones.
It
was obvious that most people were there to see the Foo Fighters and Queens Of The Stone Age (who had picked up top spot on the Triple J Hottest 100 for
"No One Knows" the day before), and neither band disapponted.
A festival wouldn't be a festival without the old shambolic
'corker' performance and The Vines
and Jane's Addiction both rose valiantly to the challenge! The Vines have yet to pull of a positively reveived show on the tour, amid media reports that the
hotly tipped foursome are falling apart at the seams.
