Field Day panned over huge queues

The first ever Field Day has come under a huge barrage of complaints, with festival goers citing massive queues and poor sound.

Festival goers who attended the event in London's Victoria Park on Saturday were forced to wait up to two hours to get served at the bar, while queues for the women's toilets were upwards of an hour.

Many have also complained at poor sound quality, which left music fans disappointed by sets from the like of Justice, Absentee and The Aliens.

It meant that hundreds of people left early, despite forking out £22.50 for a ticket.

Organisers have since apologised for the lack of facilities and staff to cope with the amount of people on site, but have failed to explain the sound situation.

A statement read: “Thanks to those of you that attended the first Field Day. Hands up, we got swamped. Sorry. It was our first festival, and there were clearly too many queues.

We did not oversell the event and the numbers of all toilets and bars were approved by the council.

However we clearly didn't anticipate the demands on the bars from a Field Day crowd, and it clearly wasnt anywhere near enough. Next year we will be at least doubling both bar and toilets.

We feel very disapointed about these problems, and hope that it didn't affect your enjoyment of the music and other activities too much. We appreciate all of the feedback we have received and will be taking it all on board.

Thank you once again for attending the first Field Day, we will improve.”
