The world revered DJ, real name Norman Cook, says he’ll be aiming to replicate the spirit of his infamous beach parties when he heads up the now legendary ‘dance Saturday’ during the four-day festival.
O2 Wireless Festival takes place from Thursday 3 July to Sunday 6 July in Hyde Park, London.
Norman Cook said: "For a long while I've wanted to play outdoors in London, but I just couldn't find a beach! Hopefully we can bring some of the spirit of the Brighton shows into the heart of London town."
Joining him will be dance pioneers Underworld, who are also renowned for their stunning live shows, and funk veterans Bootsy Collins, who are set to play their first UK show in seven years.
Steve Homer of organisers
Live Nation said: "We're in the fourth year of the O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park now and we're delighted
that this year Fatboy Slim
is headlining the Saturday night.
“Norman will be bringing his beach party to the park for this great Saturday
night out. We'll be announcing the other three headliners in the coming weeks so watch this space."
Fatboy Slim and Underworld will be following in a rich tradition of acts who've played the Saturday at Wireless, including Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Klaxons, LCD Soundsystem and CSS.
