Newton Faulkner to open T In The Park
United Kingdom | |
10 March 2008
The singer-songwriter will be the first act to grace the main stage on Friday, as the Scottish festival celebrates its 15th year.
Later that night, Scouting for Girls will appear on the Radio 1 NME stage. Having watched them perform at last year's UK Festival Awards, T In The Park organiser Geoff Ellis declared them "a great live act".
Other additions include reformed Britpop band Shed 7, who'll be making their first T appearance in a decade on the Sunday.
Joining on the main stage that day will be US rockers Bowling For Soup, who will be making their debut.
Organiser Geoff Ellis told Scotland's Sunday Mail: "Newton broke through with his debut album last summer. This is his first visit to T and comes off the back of a Brit nomination.
"Scouting for Girls have come from nowhere. They're a great live act.
"Shed Seven surprised a lot of people when they got back together. They went down a storm when they played T before.
"Bowling For Soup will make their T debut and fit the bill perfectly."
T in the Park 2008 takes place at Balado, Kiross, Perthshire, from 11-13 July. Other acts include R.E.M, Rage Against The Machine, The Verve, Kings Of Leon, The Prodigy and Kaiser Chiefs. Full line up HERE.
