New music festival for French Alps
France | |
17 March 2008
Autokratz, David E Sugar, Primary 1, The Shoes and David Yuilll will also be performing at the Alpine festival, which runs from 17-20 April in venues around the French town.
Three leading UK radio broadcasters, Eddy Temple Morris (XFM), Kissy Sell Out (R1) and The Loose Cannons (Kiss FM), have been charged with curating the bill, which aims to compliment a long weekend of skiiing or snowboarding.
Tignes is regarded as one of the world’s highest and most snow-sure ski areas, with other offpiste activities including paragliding, ice diving, ice skating and horse riding.
But live music will provide the main attraction of the weekend, with Tignesfest aspiring to support new talent and provide an alternative platform for the promotion of live dance music.
The full line up is as follows:
A Human, Alex Metric, Alex Skt, Autokratz live, The Bloody Beetroots, Boy 8-Bit, Chris Lung, Cristal Palace Band, Dark Jedis, David E. Sugar, James Yuill, Kissy Sell Out featuring Dan M, Naomi Roper, Poney Poney, Primary 1, South Central, The Shoes, Tokyoyoyo, Trash Fashion, Trevoy Loveys.
Easyjet, Snowjet, BMI and British Airways fly into Lyon, Geneva, Grenoble, and Chambery. From any of the airports you’ll need to organise transfers to Tignes.
The festival has partnered with Tignes.co.uk and Cool Bus who have offered 10% discount to TignesFest go-ers. For accommodation and info on ski passes visit www.tignes.co.uk.
