The festival takes place at Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Great Malvern, Herefordshire, from 1-3 August 2008.
Festival co-creators the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts) have also announced a festival exclusive for The Big Chill - ‘Action Dub Painting’ – an explosion of dub and paint. Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry will be visually interpreting Adrian Sherwood’s dub soundtrack on an improvised canvas to be auctioned on behalf of Amnesty International.
The ICA will also bring live programming from international Dada art rockers Lust Faust and Douglas Fishbone, plus Jeffrey Lewis, who'll be leading a choir of first-time singers to Eastnor via instructional video.
Other new additions to the festival’s stages include African Head Charge, Federico Aubelle, Peatbog Faeries and Spring Heel Jack & Evan Parker.
The Big Chill’s Club Tent will host DJ sets by Hot Chip and Nitin Sawhney and an acoustic
performance by Alabama 3.
Artists already
confirmed for the festival include Leonard Cohen, who will headline on Sunday night, plus The
Mighty Boosh, Bill Bailey, Bomb the Bass, John Shuttleworth, Buzzcocks,
The Thievery Corporation and Trentemøller. Full line up HERE.
