Organisers of the alternative festival intend to gather the most number of people with Mohican style haircuts in one
place at one time. The Wickerman Festival takes place on the Solway Coast, southern Scotland, on
25-26 July.
The attempt will incorporate everything from orthodox punk rock mohawks to the more recent Beckham-style
barnets. Verification and guidelines have been sought from the Guinness World Record Management Team, who describes a Mohican
haircut as “A hairstyle which is notably longer in the middle section.”
Mohican prizes will
be awarded in several categories including most jaunty, debonair and majestic with all festival goers welcome to
enter.
In addition to the world record attempt, visitors will be treated to a number of quirky
activities, including chainsaw juggling, silent cinema, mountain bike skills courses and a brain machine.
The
Wickerman Festival takes place at East Kirkcarswell Farm, Nr Kirkcudbright, Scotland, on the
25-26 July and headliners include KT Tunstall, Gary Numan, The Fall
and Alabama Three. Full line up and more info HERE.
Tickets are priced at £75 for the weekend with camping and parking included,
and children under 12 go free. Buy tickets HERE.
