Man found dead at Rock Ness Festival

A teenager has become the second person to die in as many years at last weekend's Rock Ness Festival.

18-year old Ryan Munro was discovered unconscious by Red Cross staff at the front of the main stage on Saturday afternoon (7 June).

The teenager was treated at the scene before being transferred to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

Speaking to BBC Scotland Supt David O'Connor said: "The youth was removed unconscious by first aiders from the front of the main stage at about 1430 BST on Saturday.

"He was treated at the A&E field hospital here by a consultant and taken to hospital where sadly he died.

"Any death in any set of circumstances is tragic and we have been extremely saddened by it. Our condolences must go out to the family of the youth involved."

Last year Paul Litterick from Dundee was found unconscious in his car before being pronounced dead in hospital.
