Lethal Bizzle at Download: 'I Did it!'

15 June 2008
The grime star was one of the most controversial bookings for the heavy rock and metal festival, but he managed to draw a
large crowd on the second stage.
Wearing big sunglasses and with his hoodie up Bizzle was bottled
from the moment he appeared from behind the curtain. "Alright, alright save some for the set," he declared
as the crowd continued to pelt him.
"I ain't scared of you motherfuckers," the rapper said
before telling the crowd to put their middle fingers up and shout 'fuck you Bizzle.'
With a DJ and another
MC, Bizzle, real name Maxwell Ansah, pumped out an energetic set that included 'Bizzle Bizzle' and
'Police On My Back' as well as snippets of Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Dead Prez.
In keeping with the festival's
tradition Bizzle asked the crowd for a mosh pit, which was greeted with boos. "Am I going to have to start one myself?"
He screamed at the crowd before jumping down into the front row.
As the onslaught on throwing continues the rapper
pulled out a bottle of vodka. "I've got a bottle too, a glass bottle," he told the audience before
swigging the drink neat.
It was reworking of House Of Pain's 'Jump Around' that got the crowd on his
side though with Bizzle getting the mosh pit he'd asked for.
The grime star even had time to volley flying
bottle back into the crowd and catch a Frisbee during 'Pow (Forward)' before ending on an acapella version of The
Ruts' 'Staring At The Rude Bois', which he recorded with Gallows last year.
"I fucking did
it," declared the rapper as her left the stage to cheers of "We want more."
