Woman burned by blowtorch at Oxegen

A woman has been treated in an Irish hospital for first degree burns after coming into contact with a blowtorch.

The unnamed female was accidentally burned by a male friend over the weekend and taken to Nass general hospital for care. So far no arrests have been made by the Garda (Irish Police).

Elsewhere it has been confirmed that two people have died and six more have been taken into hospital at Norway Rock Festival after suspected carbon monoxide poisoning that was emitted from the bus they were staying in.

Speaking about the tragedy a police spokesman told the AFP news agency: "We assume they suffocated on fumes while they were on the bus."

These stories follow news of a stabbing and a death at this year's T In The Park. The death is the second at a Scottish festival this year following the discovery of an 18-year-old's body at Rock Ness in June.
