Edwyn Collins triumphs at Belladrum Tartan Heart

United Kingdom United Kingdom | | 11 August 2008

The ex-Orange Juice singer, perhaps best known for his solo hit 'Never Met A Girl Like You', was one of the highlights of the Scottish festival.

Taking to the stage following a patchy Pete Wylie performance, Collins eased through hits from his former band, including 'Falling And Laughing', 'Blue Boy' and a funky 'Rip It Up', looking calm and relaxed throughout.

Supported by his band, which includes guitarist Roddy Doyle, the determined singer also performed material from current album 'Home Again' with the song 'Searching For The Truth' proving a moving highlight.

Belladrum Tartan Heart took place in the Italian Gardens of Belladrum village, Inverness-shire, on 8-9 August, also featuring headline sets by Scouting For Girls and The Waterboys.
