Winehouse 'destroyed Bestival hotel room'

Amy Winehouse caused £5,000 worth of damage to her hotel room following her Bestival appearance a tabloid has been claimed.

The Sun newspaper has also alleged that the singer was so drunk she had to be smuggled from the premises in a duvet.

The 24-year old star, who headlined the main stage on the Saturday night, was staying in the Wellington Hotel in Ventnor where she apparently shouted at staff and guests which led to bosses barring her from returning.

A source told the newspaper: "Amy was a total mess. She couldn't manage to walk to the car so they had to wrap her in a duvet."

Winehouse's appearance at the festival was her last scheduled live performance of 2008.
