Speaking to BBC 6 Music the former Nirvana man announced that the band are set to take a break from playing
in Britain following their successful residency at Wembley stadium in June.
"After doing Wembley, we shouldn't
come back there for, like, 10 years," Grohl told the radio station, "We're over there
every year, every summer, and I think it's time to take a break and come back when people really miss us."
The quartet haven't played a UK festival since their V Festival shows in 2007, but contrary to
Grohl's comments insider rumours suggest the band are due to return to the festival scene next year.
"We've
never really taken a long break," the singer continued, "I think it's time."
