WEST COAST BLUES AND ROOTS FESTIVAL 2008

The West Coast Blues and Roots Festival hits the Esplanade Reserve, Marine Terrace, Fremantle again this year for its fifth event. The two-day festival has a diverse line-up with Lee Scratch Perry, Bo Diddley and John Butler Trio all performing in 2007.

Organisers give unsigned artists the chance to play alongside the international stars and national talent. The event attracts around 15,000 revellers each year and raises money for Oxfam Australia.

The festival is big on green issues too: there are recycling points onsite, solar powered mobile recharging centres, a tree planting scheme and festival goers are asked to pay a $2 green fee to offset their carbon footprint.less
