WOMAD stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance and was set up in 1982 by Genesis' lead singer Peter Gabriel. The event
brings together many forms of the arts from different countries and cultures from over the globe. WOMAD has around 20 festivals
worldwide and it allows audiences to gain an insight into other cultures through the enjoyment of music.
